Come and visit our library and resource centre at the South Frankston Community Centre, Tower Hill Road, Frankston (Melways 102 D7) - telephone 03 9783 7058. Library use is free for members. We hold microfiche indexes of all Australian states' birth, death and marriage indexes, as well as numerous cemetery indexes. The International Genealogical Index and a complete collection of the 1881 Census for English counties are valuable tools for research. We have a growing collection of the English Civil Registration Index from 1837 to the 1880s on microfiche. Resources on CD-roms include the British Vital Records Index, the 1881 British Census and also other overseas indexes and local research.
We are now pleased to say that we now have access worldwide via our broadband internet computers including Ancestry.com which provides further resources such as the English and Welsh Census records from 1841 to 1901 and transcripts of the Scottish Census from 1841 to 1901.
See the Local History page for a list of our local history resources.
